Technology Tools

This project allowed me to explore various technology tools that can enhance teaching and learning, whether teaching kindergarteners or adults. In this project, I created technology tools that align with different learning theories. Through hands-on practice and continuous learning, I’ve developed a deep understanding of how to integrate these tools to design interactive quizzes, simulations, and collaborative projects that not only support diverse learning styles but also foster active engagement. This process has allowed me to creatively blend technology with instructional strategies, making learning more dynamic and accessible for all learners.

Brainscape

Brainscape is an online learning tool that helps you learn with interactive flashcards. You can create flashcards that align with any lesson being taught. Using this technology tool, I created two sets of flashcards. The first set of flashcards that I created relates to the different theorists that contribute to learning theories. The second set of flashcards I created aligns with the different learning theories. For each set, I entered a question and answer. Now that the flashcards are created, you can go through each card to study and test your knowledge of how much you know. Brainscape also allows you to keep track of the flashcards that you know well, and you can go back to the ones you need more practice on. This tool helps you to build confidence in obtaining knowledge to help prepare for any exam or quiz.

Figma

Figma is a digital technology tool that allows you to collaborate in real time to create visual presentations,  projects, design websites, mobile apps, and more. The design file allows you to create powerful websites, mobile apps, and desktop apps. FigJam board allows you to use the whiteboard or diagram feature to share new ideas, share team updates, plan for future events, or draw up diagrams. Finally, the slide deck feature allows you to create presentations. I used the slide deck feature to create a visual presentation on the learning theory of Multiple Intelligences: Exploring the Diverse Ways People Learn. Each slide gives information on the founder of the theory, details of each intelligence, and classroom and real-world applications. There is also a questions slide that allows you to visit a Padlet to enter any questions you have, along with an open-ended discussion question.

JeopardyLabs

JeopardyLabs is a free technology app that allows you to create an interactive Jeopardy-style game on any topic or subject of your choice. When customizing the Jeopardy game, I came up with five different categories related to Behaviorism that I put at the top of each column. Once I labeled each column, I clicked on each of the value boxes, entered my question prompts in the text box on the left, entered my correct responses in the text box on the right, and saved my work. When creating your own Jeopardy game, you can add or delete rows or columns that are dependent on how many categories or score values you want to have. When done, you can easily share the link or embed the content in any LMS for students to access on their own as well.

Popplet

Popplet is a visual learning tool that helps you organize your ideas in the form of a diagram or mind map. When using this tool, I started by adding a "popple" with a learning theory, and from that popple, I added more popples with information that relates to that learning theory. When starting a new popple for a different learning theory, I created a new popple to continue gathering information. You can customize the organization of information by changing the colors of the borders and uploading images. You can also add video links and URLs to help quickly access information that you have found relevant to the topics of your choice. This technology tool can be used in educational and professional settings.

*Once on the Popplet, click on the gear and then click hide name badges. I wasn't sure how to get rid of the name badges altogether.
